Team USA's road to a second straight gold medal at the World Junior Championships continues with a quarterfinal matchup against Russia Tuesday night. The game is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on NHL Network in the United States.

The Americans rebounded from a shocking loss to Slovakia in the group stage by winning back-to-back games against Canada and Finland. The 4-3 shootout win over Canada at New Era Field, home of the Buffalo Bills, was the first outdoor game in WJC history.

Top Sabres prospect Casey Mittelstadt has been on fire for the U.S. with a tournament-leading nine points in four games. He's consistently been the team's best player and looks like a potential NHL star. Fans in Buffalo have to be drooling over these games thinking about getting Mittelstadt into the same lineup as Jack Eichel.

Brady Tkachuk, the younger brother of Matthew and an elite 2018 draft prospect, has also starred for the Americans with six points. Defensemen Quinn Hughes and Scott Perunovich are also considered potential top-10 picks for the upcoming draft in Dallas.

The Russian team is similarly full of top NHL prospects. The biggest one is Andrei Svechnikov, who is considered the probable No. 2-overall pick behind Rasmus Dahlin. Blues prospect Klim Kostin leads the team with six points, while Svechnikov and Blackhawks prospect Artur Kayumov are second with five points apiece.

Russia went 2-0-1-1 during the group stage with losses to Czech Republic and Sweden. Their only wins were against Switzerland and Belarus, so they'll need to play better to knock off the defending champs.
