More than 50% of Guatemalan Infants and Children under the age of 5 Are undernourished. ANA Jackson House Opened Outside of Antigua in 2008 to address Guatemala's Chronic malnutrition problem. Jackson House is a hospital intensive rehabilitative Providing Treatment to Infants and Children Suffering from acute malnutrition and Its side effects. Jackson House employs a director, doctor, social worker, and 8 nurses, and Between 5 and 10 International Volunteers assist staff members with Each morning and evening feeding, Changing diapers, and Spending Time with the Children. Jackson House is Equipped to treat 20 infants and young Children at a time.
Patients Are ADMITTED to Jackson House by Parents or family members or Institutions' referred by local healthcare or social services. Usually Patients Receive Treatment and rehabilitation for 2 to 8 weeks. Jackson House Involves patients' Families THROUGHOUT The Treatment process. Parents are required to make bi-weekly visits to Their Children Attend health education and food donations and events.The Jackson House social worker with Families FOLLOWS DURING up regular home visits after a child is discharge.
Jackson House staff rehabilitate Have More Than 150 Severely-malnourished Children Through in-house care Since the opening of the Center. Jackson House Also Conduct field staff to monitor acute malnutrition clinics, educate Communities on Proper nutrition, and Identify Patients. Jackson House has Addressed Hundreds of out-patient married by Providing donations of food and medication and Educating Parents since 2008.
